Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude and Cursor use external tools. Receptly runs an MCP server, so your AI client can read and act on your live call, booking, and lead data instead of you copying it between tabs.
MCP Server
Run your AI receptionist from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Check calls, book appointments, update agents, and pull transcripts in plain language — without opening a dashboard.
A conversation, not a dashboard
You already think in questions — “what came in overnight?”, “move Thursday’s booking”. Receptly turns those into tool calls against your live account, so the answer is the work, not a report about it.
Jump to the setup →What calls came in after hours last week?
receptly_calls_list{ after: "18:00", days: 7 }7 calls came in after 18:00. Four booked appointments; three left a number and no booking.
Move Thursday's 3pm to Friday at the same time.
receptly_appointments_reschedule{ from: "Thu 15:00", to: "Fri 15:00" }Moved. Maria has been texted the new time and the calendar invite is updated.
Illustrative exchange. Tool names are real; timings and results are an example.
Your receptionist, driven by your AI client
The Receptly MCP server exposes your live account as tools your AI assistant can call. Ask in plain language and it reads or writes the real record — no exports, no copy-paste.
Calls and transcripts
List recent calls, search across transcripts, pull recordings, and read the post-call summary for any conversation — all without leaving your AI client.

SMS and conversations
Read inbox threads and reply to customers over SMS from the same client, so follow-ups don't depend on someone watching a dashboard.

Hi, I missed a call from you earlier?
Sorry we missed you — we have Thu 15:00 or Fri 10:30 free. Which suits?
Friday works, thanks.
Booked for Fri 10:30 — you’ll get a reminder Thursday.

No SDK, no bridge process, nothing to install. Three steps from an empty client to a working one.

Create an agent token
In Receptly, go to Settings → Agent access and create a token. Choose the connection profile and tick only the scopes you need. The full token is shown once.
- 02
Add the server to your client
Paste the configuration above into Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client, swapping in your token. The endpoint speaks Streamable HTTP, so no bridge or local process is needed.
- 03
Ask it something real
“What calls came in after hours last week?” or “Move Thursday's 3pm to Friday”. Your client calls the Receptly tools and answers from live data.
Paste this into your client
Tokens are created in Receptly under Settings → Agent access. Pick a profile, tick only the scopes you need, and the full token is shown once.

Easy to conflate, so worth being precise about which one you want.
This page
Receptly runs the MCP server. Your AI client connects in with a token and works on your account data — calls, appointments, leads, messaging.
Per voice agent
Your voice agent can be given up to 20 external MCP servers to call during a conversation. Configured per agent, in the agent editor’s MCP tab.
